Perfume oil and spray perfume both smell wonderful, but they work differently. Which one suits you?
What is perfume oil?
In perfume oil, the fragrance sits in an oily base. You apply it with a roll-on directly to the skin. As a result, the scent stays close to your body: you and the people right next to you can smell it, not the whole room.
What is spray perfume?
In a perfume such as an Extrait de Parfum, the fragrance is dissolved in alcohol. You spray it over a larger area of skin or clothing. The alcohol evaporates quickly, so the scent spreads further around you.
The differences at a glance
| Perfume oil | Perfume (spray) | |
|---|---|---|
| Base | Oily | Alcohol |
| Application | Roll-on on the skin | Spray |
| Scent | Close to the skin | Spreads further |
| Handy for | On the go, in your bag | At home and going out |
Using them together
You can also combine them. First apply a little perfume oil to your wrists or neck, then spray your perfume. This gives the scent a base on your skin.
Which one should you choose?
- Want a scent that gets noticed when you walk in? Choose a 50 ml Extrait de Parfum.
- Want a scent close to the skin, or something handy for on the go? Choose a perfume oil roll-on.
Many Kahil scents come in both forms, so you can pick the same scent for home and for on the go.
